Breakdown Analytics LLC ("Company", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our websites (breakdownanalytics.com, rosearch.io) and our web application (app.rosearch.com) (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three distinct categories to facilitate the operation of the ROsearch engine:

A. Personal Information (PI)

• Account Data: When you sign up for the Beta, we collect your Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Shop Name. This is necessary for account management and authentication.
• Billing Data: We utilize a third-party PCI-DSS compliant processor (e.g., Stripe) for all transactions. Breakdown Analytics LLC does not store full credit card numbers on our servers.

B. Repair Order Data (The "Core Data")

• Ingestion: Via the Tekmetric API, we index Repair Orders (ROs) generated by your shop. This data includes Customer Names, Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs), Line Item details, parts pricing, and labor descriptions.
• Classification: We treat the combination of Customer Name and VIN as sensitive confidential information, recognizing the evolving regulatory landscape surrounding vehicle telematics and owner privacy.

C. Usage & Technical Data

• Telemetry: We automatically collect log data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
• Cookies: We use session cookies to maintain your logged-in state. We may use third-party analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, PostHog) to track product usage patterns and improve system performance.

3. How We Use Information

We use your data strictly to operate and improve the Service, consistent with the following purposes:

• Search Functionality: To index and retrieve Repair Orders upon your specific search queries.
• Beta Communication: To send you technical alerts, downtime notices, and "bug hunt" updates relevant to the Beta program.
• Product Improvement: To analyze usage trends (e.g., "most searched parts") to optimize our search algorithms.
• Marketing: We send marketing emails only if you have explicitly opted-in (e.g., via a checkbox) during signup. You may opt-out at any time.
• Legal Compliance: To comply with court orders, valid subpoenas, or other legal processes required by Arizona or Federal law.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information or your Shop Data. We share data only with the following categories of third parties:

• Infrastructure Providers: We use trusted cloud hosting services (e.g., AWS, Vercel) and database providers to host the Service.
• Email Services: We use providers like Postmark or SendGrid to deliver transactional emails (password resets, system alerts). These providers process your email address solely for delivery purposes.
• Integrations: We share data synchronization signals with Tekmetric as necessary to maintain the integrity of your data connection.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if compelled by law enforcement or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Breakdown Analytics LLC, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

• Active Accounts: We retain your indexed RO data for the duration of your active subscription to provide immediate search history access.
• Deleted Accounts: Upon account termination, we quarantine your data for a grace period of 30 days. After this period, we permanently delete your indexed RO cache to minimize data liability.

6. User Rights & Access

• Access & Correction: You may view and update your profile data via the "Settings" panel in the application.
• Deletion: You may request full account deletion and data purge by emailing privacy@breakdownanalytics.com. We will process such requests within 30 days.
• Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from marketing communications via the "unsubscribe" link in the footer of our emails. Transactional emails regarding account status and security are mandatory.

7. Security Measures

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit and encryption at rest for sensitive database fields. However, you acknowledge that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is a business-to-business (B2B) tool intended for automotive repair professionals. We do not knowingly collect or solicit data from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

While Breakdown Analytics LLC is an Arizona entity, we recognize that our users may have customers in California. To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) applies:

• We act as a "Service Provider" processing data on your behalf.
• We do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• California residents have the right to request disclosure of the categories of personal information we collect and to request deletion of their data.
